Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (“we”, “us”), registered at [REGISTERED ADDRESS], company number [COMPANY NUMBER], for your use of DebuggerOS. By creating an account you accept them.

What the service does

DebuggerOS connects to repositories you nominate, investigates bugs you report, proposes a fix, and verifies that fix against your build before it lands. Concretely, that means we will read your source code and, where you permit it, commit changes and open or merge pull requests in your repository.

You decide which repositories are connected, and you can disconnect them at any time from GitHub or from your settings.

Your account

You must be at least 16 and able to enter a contract.
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping access to your email secure, since sign-in is by magic link.
You must have the right to grant us access to any repository you connect. If it belongs to an employer or client, make sure you are allowed to.

Credit and charges

DebuggerOS is prepaid. You buy credit, and each run draws against your balance. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. New accounts receive an allowance of free fixes as described on the pricing page at the time you sign up.

Prices are shown before you buy and are inclusive or exclusive of tax as indicated at checkout.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
You are charged for a fix that lands. Where a run fails to produce a verified fix, it is not charged for.
Unused credit is subject to [CREDIT EXPIRY TERM].

Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Your code stays yours

You keep all rights in your code. You grant us only the licence needed to run the service for you: to read, analyse, modify and write back to the repositories you connect, for the purpose of finding and fixing the bugs you report. We do not use your code to train models. See the Privacy Policy.

What you are responsible for

This is the part worth reading twice. DebuggerOS writes code to your repository. It verifies its work against your build and tests, but automated verification is not the same as human review.

You are responsible for reviewing changes before they reach production, and for the branch protection and deployment rules that govern your repository.
You are responsible for maintaining backups and for your ability to revert a change.
The quality of a fix depends on the quality of your tests. A change that passes a thin test suite is not thereby proven correct.

Acceptable use

You may not use DebuggerOS to:

Access or modify a repository you are not authorised to.
Process code whose disclosure to a third-party model provider would breach an obligation you owe someone else.
Attack, overload or reverse engineer the service, or attempt to extract other customers' data.
Build anything unlawful, or use the service to produce malicious code.

Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. Where a change is material and adverse, we will give reasonable notice.

Warranties

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that any bug will be fixed, that a fix will be correct, or that a fix will not have side effects.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or business interruption. Our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, or [LIABILITY FLOOR].

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Ending the agreement

You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. On termination, unused credit is treated in accordance with the Refund Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in the app before they take effect, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.

Governing law
